Covid Policy

Three furs taking a selfie while wearing N95 masks

BARK recognizes that the Covid pandemic has not ended and continues to affect health and accessibility for many members of our furry community. While there’s always going to be some risk in attending any in-person gathering, we believe it is possible to mitigate those risks with a multi-layered approach. We are committed to doing what we can to make BARK safer and more inclusive, particularly for vulnerable and immunocompromised attendees.

  • Masks are not required, but they are encouraged! We will provide free, high-quality N95 masks that help protect yourself and others, especially in crowded indoor environments.
  • We will not check vaccination status, but we strongly recommend that all attendees stay up-to-date on their Covid vaccines. A new vaccine is expected to come out in the months ahead of the event, so you’ll have time to get up-to-date.
  • We encourage attendees to take an at-home rapid Covid test the day of the event.
  • We will deploy ventilation and air filtration throughout the indoor event space. (These will also produce a nice breeze for the fursuiters!)
  • We will have outdoor space available – feel free to use it for eating and drinking or just hanging out.
  • Please do not attend BARK if you test positive for Covid or have any other reason to believe you may be ill or contagious.
  • Please notify BARK staff immediately if you become ill or test positive for Covid after the event.

This policy was developed together with Covid Safe Furs, which is also providing N95 masks and air filters! Please check them out at covidsafefurs.org if you are looking for a Covid-conscious furry community or would like help with Covid mitigation for your own event.
